“Squeeze your creative juices; think outside the box”, is a statement we often hear when we run out of good ideas and solutions. But, thinking outside the box is not something everyone is comfortable in doing. Think of it, you have been inside an illusionary box from the moment your were born. This box protects you from the complexities of life, from the things you are scared of – and stepping outside of that imaginary box may mean leaving your comfort zone, taking risks, and facing your fears.
In other words, thinking outside the box is not an easy journey to embark on.
Yes, it takes a lot to think outside the box, but as with anything else, the end results will almost always be worth your while.
So what can you get from thinking outside the box?
You allow yourself to see things differently
While stepping out of your confinement may mean breaking some of your personal rules or rejecting your own point of views, this will help you view things from a completely different perspective. Your ideas become unfiltered and your judgement becomes unbiased. You learn to be more accepting of others’ opinions. Instead of insisting on the things you think are right, you become more open to suggestions. In addition, you learn to take feedback positively and accept criticism constructively.
To think outside the box may also require you to leave behind your gained experiences and knowledge from school and start to approach certain circumstances from a completely different point of view as opposed to what you used to do. It may be difficult at first, but then again, the advantages far outweigh the cons.
You allow yourself to gain more
While unconventional thinking may mean a separation from the standard conformity of the status quo, it is exactly what brought many people to success.
Imagine that the majority of the world’s population reside within the box and they work hard to attain their goals, which are also within the box. So if you come to think of it, you are competing with over half of the world’s population for the same goals. Although this box contains all the socially-acceptable goals, which is just right for you to achieve, there are probably tens of billions of other people striving their best to achieve them. In short, everything you desire to achieve is also the same things nearly everyone in this world wants to have.
But, if you look outside the box, there you’ll see goals which most of the people inside the box think are unattainable. The things you think are unsurmountable by the masses are sought after by only a few. Unsurprisingly, these few people are the world’s billionaires, most successful businessmen, artists, scientists, and the like. These are the people who did not take part in the competition but traverse their own journey to success.
Do you get the point?
Greater opportunities and new possibilities lie ahead for people who are brave enough to step outside their box.

You allow yourself to grow and evolve
Limitless thinking opens your minds, gives you an unconventional wisdom, and teaches you a radical approach to unveiling things. You learn to look beyond the traditional way of accomplishing tasks. Sometimes it is in acquiring new strategies that you are able to become more productive and efficient in both your personal and professional lives.
Facing the challenges outside the box will ultimately help you grow and evolve. If you look at the past, you’ll see that it was the renowned people of history that have greatly contributed to what you have today. If they have not gone outside their box or resisted the proven method of operation, who knows where people are now. 20th Century might probably be still the Stone Age.
“I never made one of my discoveries through the process of rational thinking.” – Albert Einstein
If you remain within the boundaries of the box, then you’ll stand in the way of your own growth. It is important that you let go of habits that stops you from changing. It may be challenging, but breaking your regular habits will definitely pay off in the long run.
Now, are you ready to step outside your box and take action?
Thinking outside the box is always better than staying inside the box. But thinking outside the box is not enough; you also need to act outside the box. That is if you want to see results.
Let’s step outside our boundaries and turn our thoughts into actions. It is only then we will truly see what it means to achieve the unreachable.
